First formed amid the pandemic in May 2020, the station‘s tight-knit community is eager to demonstrate its success with the creation of LDC Presents: their own small-scale festival.

This weekend, the project comes to life in the multi-room Beaver Works venue, with a lineup of nearly 30 DJs, selectors and MCs all performing to a devoted crowd of station fans.

Speaking about Saturday’s event, station co-founder Arran Haj-Najafi said:

“It’s been a long time since I’ve been able to organize an event like this with as many people from the station as possible.

We worked together as a team [at LDC] for nearly two years, but some of us have known each other for two decades through Leeds Pirate Radio.

An event where we can get together with friends and family and share our love of dance music is pretty good!”

Attendees can expect music from all dance genres, ranging from house, techno, drums and bass and bass line in four venues in total.

Headlining this weekend are just a handful of talents airing on LDC, including Vital Techniques, Yung Fox, Daniel James and Unit 23.

“All of our DJs have been handpicked and selected for the love of music,” Arran continued.

“That’s what we all have in common; we love dance music and we want to share it with the public.”
