Al-Ekhbariya radio is part of the kingdom’s efforts to develop more local content on different media channels

To mark World Radio Day, the Saudi Broadcasting Authority launched Al-Ekhbariya Radio, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s first news radio station, on February 13.
The station is affiliated with the government television channel Al-Ekhbariya and can be heard on FM in the capital city of Riyadh (93.0 MHz), Jeddah (107.7 MHz) along the Red Sea coast and Dammam ( 99.0 MHz) in the East. part of the country.
SBA CEO Mohammed bin Fahd Al-Harithi told the Saudi Press Agency that the launch is part of the SBA’s efforts to make greater use of all media platforms, develop more local content and cater to different tastes in society.

According to UAE Newsthe station will have a network of 85 correspondents and will concentrate 80% of its programming on local news, the rest being devoted to Arab and international news.
