Report from Tony’s 10m group | Southgate Amateur Radio News

0

Not the busiest of weeks with three being the usual number of contacts to enter lists.

The Spanish AO1 (Galicia) really dominated every day.

I passed a bronze certificate even though I passed a contact with the very rare AO2022XAC. But I got a certificate for the Maccabiah Jewish Games.

Last week, Ignacio, TI3IES sent me a report that was just over my deadline. Here it is now.

“Well I didn’t have much time to go through my radios, this Tuesday with 10 watts and a wire I was able to give my QSL to PY5QW in Curitiba Brazil, the spread was a bit awkward but acceptable to be heard.”

Let me just ask contributors to please send me reports by 12:00 UTC Wednesday (or earlier) for inclusion that week.

RSGB IOTA Competition (July 30-31, 2022) Also check out the peri-competition activity here.

Sun: Half a dozen sunspots. But eclipse season for NASA’s Solar Dynamics Observatory (SDO) has begun. Every day for the next three weeks, around 07:30 UT, Earth will pass between SDO and the sun, producing stunning images. This is a twice-a-year event for SDO caused by the alignment of the Sun and Earth seen from the spacecraft’s geosynchronous orbit. (spaceweather.com)

Cricket: The decisive ODI (One Day International) final against South Africa was washed away by rain, with South Africa looking in command. Unbelievable! We here in the south haven’t had rain in weeks. The ground is hard and parched and the grass is like straw
