Port Huron Radio Station for “Rock the Rescue” – The Voice

A local radio station is teaming up with the Blue Water Area Humane Society and several local businesses for “Rockin’ the Rescue,” a day-long fundraising and awareness event scheduled for Thursday at McMorran Plaza in Port Huron.

WHLS Rock 105.5 personality Brad Biewer will be broadcasting live from inside a kennel to collect donations for the local shelter from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

“We wanted to find a way for the station to give back to the community. Everyone involved in this event cares very deeply for animals, so we decided Blue Water Area Humane would be the ideal organization to raise funds,” Biewer said in a press release. “Since we’re an alternative rock station, we like to have fun and push things as far as we can. Not only does it get attention, but I hope people will come to see me locked in the cage and it will get them to donate.

Rock 105.5 will also be selling t-shirts during the event for $25, with all proceeds going to the Blue Water Area Humane Society.

Additionally, donations of pet supplies such as cat food, long-lasting dog chews, bleach, and unscented cat litter will be collected.
