Popular radio station is set to open a new cafe in Glasgow later this year.

Radio Buena Vida, Govanhill’s online community radio, announced on social media that it will soon be opening a cafe.

The radio station is back on the air after moving to a new unit on Victoria Road where it broadcasts live from a new windowed radio booth.

While the finishing touches are being put on the sit-down cafe, Buena Vida will be serving take-out coffee on livestream days and encouraging locals to come and experience the space.

The radio station broadcasts emerging and established talent with the aim of making the new space a creative hub for musicArts and culture.

The cafe is a few weeks away from opening and will help support the radio station.

A Cafe Buena Vida spokesperson wrote in an Instagram post: “Radio Buena Vida is back with live broadcasts from the window of its new home here at Cafe Buena Vida at 535 Victoria Road in Govanhill, Glasgow.

“We are still a few weeks away from being ready to welcome you to our sit-down coffee space but, in the meantime, we will be launching coffee to go on our days of live radio broadcasts by the good people at The Good Coffee Cartel and Us v Them Coffee, so come in and say hello, check out our new space and get your caffeine fix.

“If you are unfamiliar with Radio Buena Vida, we are a community internet radio station based in Govanhill with a mission to champion emerging and established talent in all genres of independent music and arts in Glasgow and across Scotland.

The cafe is currently open for coffee to go on Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays.
