  • Members of RaRa - The Rochester Amateur Radio Assn. will receive FREE admission with presentation of their 2010 membership cards at the gate. If you're not a member? Join today!
  • More than double the space for commercial vendors under the bigger "Big Top" with new commercial vendors.
    • Note to vendors: Space is limited, and sales close April 15th so reserve your prime location today.
  • No traffic Jams... we hope (hi-hi).
  • Talk-in has moved to 146.79 - .60 PL 110.9 for better coverage at and near the Hamfest location.

Everyone is invited: Saturday evening at 6pm join us in the on-site Banquet Facility for an informal buffet dinner for only $15.00! After dinner cocktails will be available at the cash bar. Dinner tickets will be available all day at the RaRa booth. Spouses and guests attending dinner only, DO NOT need to purchase admission tickets!!!

Bring your appetite!
Start your day right with a hot breakfast sandwich. For lunch you can indulge in some of your all-time favorites, but save some room for dinner. Our Hamfest venue will transform in to a banquet hall where we will serve a full Buffet dinner; prepared by our friends at Forest Hill Catering. Dinner will be followed by the ARRL Atlantic Division Awards presentation!
 

Don't expect to pay a lot to have a good time! With $5.00 admission and $2.00 Hamburgers, that will leave you plenty to spend in the flea market or belly up to the full service bar! <<Remember: Don't drink and drive... or transmit!>>

Volunteer Examiner Testing

VE License Testing 8:30 AM—10:30 AM [No Pre-Registration Necessary]

The RaRa Volunteer Examiner Team will conduct amateur radio license examinations at the Hamfest site.  Examinations start at 8:30 a.m.  No pre-registration is required and the exams will given on a first come - first serve basis. Testing is conducted under the auspices of the Laurel Volunteer Exam Coordinator.  There is no fee at this testing session.

Please bring with you: Two No. 2 Pencils, a pen, two forms of ID, at least one with a picture, and originals and copies and of any existing licenses, CSCE's, etc.
A birth certificate and parent's photo ID will suffice for minors who may not have their own photo ID. We do not have copying facilities, and may not be able to administer your test if you do not bring copies of documents.

National Weather Service SKYWARN Training Program

This basic training session provides a brief overview of the National Weather Service (the organization and its responsibilities), the equipment used (including capabilities and limitations), and basic severe weather meteorology (including how thunderstorms, and tornadoes form).  Additional SKYWARN information can be found at www.wbuf.noaa.gov/spt.htm.

QSL Card Certification

  • Ed Gable, K2MP, ARRL Field Checker

Ed will check your QSL Cards for WAS, VUCC, DXCC and can check 160-meter cards, deleted entities, and cards older than 10-years.

Tents and canopies are permitted by the site owner. Tent stakes may NOT be driven into paved surfaces. Accidents happen: If you erect a tent or canopy, make certain your liability insurance will protect you. You will be personally responsible for any damages.

New York State Sales Tax

Under NY tax law, each selling vendor must be registered with the New York State Sales Tax Bureau. Permits must be obtained from the tax bureau in advance. State tax application form DTF17 and Instructions may be downloaded here.

Each selling vendor is responsible for collection and payment of sales taxes.

The Town and Fire Department will not allow grills, BBQs, or any cooking at the Hamfest site.

Accommodations for
Travelers and Campers

  • Visitors to the area can find Directions to the event site HERE.
  • Lodging in the immediate area can be identified HERE.
  • Travel Trailer camping on the event grounds Friday evening is available by permit for $10.00. There are no facilities provided so your camper will need to be self-sufficient.
  • Campers needing facilities can locate Camp Grounds in the area HERE.
